This expanding program is currently pursuing R&D on room-temperature structures for a second generation electron-positron linear collider. Responsibilities will include providing management and technical direction for a program aimed at developing cost effective approaches to an electron-positron linear collider over the next several years, and for coordinating the Fermilab effort both within the U.S. NLC Collaboration and within the larger world effort. The project leader will report to the Associate Director for Accelerators. The institutes which have contributed in an international effort to the Technical Design Report will present the prospects of TESLA for particle physics and science with X-Ray Free Electron Lasers as well as its technical realization. On Friday 23 March the program will start with plenary talks on the status and perspectives of particle physics and of research with photons, followed by presentations of the technical aspects of TESLA.
