Blackholes

Dear Dan, You asked:
Where can I access papers discussing the potential dangers of forming black holes in an accelerator?

Dear Dan,

There is really no danger in producing mini-black-holes at the accelerators. The reason is that they live such a short moment of time that they cannot move around or accrete the matter around them. If the black holes can indeed be formed at the accelerators, they would be also copiously produced in the Earth matter and atmosphere by high-energy cosmics rays. The very fact of our existence is the best prove of lack of any danger associated with the black hole formation. If you want to get a deeper insight on this, there is an excellent article by Frank Wilczek et al.: http://xxx.lanl.gov/abs/hep-ph/9910333.

Best regards,

Greg Landsberg
